Permit sets · Greater Boston
Stamped sets,
printed right,
on site tomorrow.
A permit set is the one document every inspector, sub, and owner reads from. PLOPLAN prints it from your stamped PDF at the issued size, in as many copies as the job needs, and delivers it to the permit desk, the office, or the trailer anywhere in Greater Boston.
What building departments expect on paper
24 × 36 for residential and most commercial sets, 30 × 42 for larger commercial and lab work. A set printed at half size cannot be scaled by the inspector and gets sent back.
Every sheet on the index, with the architect's or engineer's stamp on the issued PDF. We show the detected page count on upload so a missing sheet is caught before printing.
Inspector, site, office, framer, MEP: each needs its own copy on the same day. Stapled sets keep the order; bound sets are for owners and lenders.

Permit set questions
How many permit sets do I need in Boston?
Boston ISD accepts electronic filings, but the inspector, the site and each trade work from paper. Most residential jobs print three to five full sets: permit file or inspector, jobsite, GC office, and one for each major sub. Commercial jobs print more so every trade has its own copy.
Do stamps and signatures print correctly?
Yes, as long as they are on the issued PDF. We print the file exactly as it is; a stamp added as a separate scan should be merged into the set before upload.
Which size is a permit set?
24 × 36 (Arch D) for nearly all residential and most commercial work in Massachusetts; 30 × 42 for larger commercial and lab sets. Half-size 11 × 17 review sets are common for the office and the owner.
Can I get the set before an inspection tomorrow morning?
Yes. Choose Next Day AM and the set is on site before 10 AM. Same-day options cover an inspection this afternoon.
What if the building department asks for changes?
Upload the revised PDF through the revision flow, pick the sheets that changed, and print only those for every set holder. GC members get a monthly revision allowance with free delivery.
